countryside lanes, warm breeze, tipples on the green
Long summer days in Kent

This is when our Kent hideaway really comes into its own

Step Outside: Summer Walks & Garden Wanders
Just steps from our doorstep you’ll find ancient Kent woodland, gentle riverside rambles and sprawling vineyards that show the Garden of England at its summer best.
Follow footpaths along the River Nailbourne, wander through sleepy villages or head out across open farmland with nothing but birdsong and the occasional church spire on the horizon. Our team has rounded up some of their favourite local routes, perfect for working up an appetite before lunch from the Garden Oven or stretching things out after a slow, sunny breakfast.

Unwind in the Potting Sheds
Our treatment rooms are some of our favourite spots to hide out, tucked away in the peace and quiet of the Kitchen Garden. Sinking into a massage, facial or scrub while the rest of the world does its thing feels like a really good kind of treat.
It’s time carved out just for you.

Golden hour: Buttered & Baked
After a long, countryside ramble, there’s only one sensible next step. Settle in for Buttered & Baked - generous, comforting and proudly un‑fussy, ‘perfect-for-3pm’ kind of moreish treats.
Think warm, savoury, cheesy, buttery bites and plentiful homebaked sweet things to finish. It’s the perfect pairing for a mid-week spring wander, whether you’re staying the night or just dropping in.

Where will you wake up this Summer?

Stream Wagons
Nestled in the heart of nature, our two brand-new Stream Wagons are tucked away in their own secluded spot in the water meadow just a short walk from the main house. Stroll past the bustle of the restaurant and the Kitchen Garden and out along the boardwalk, guiding you through sleepy willow trees and past our Hop Pickers’ Huts – and you will find our Stream Wagons tucked away in front of a quietly flowing stream. These perfectly private, stylish and spacious Stream Wagons are designed using reclaimed timber and each have a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and a wood burning stove inside – as well as your own peaceful outdoor terrace. The real showstopper? Choose between your own double ended baths and monsoon showers – indoors and outdoors!
