Head to our house at THE PIG-at Bridge Place, where we’ll welcome you in under our stretch tent on the front lawn with a hot drink and freshly baked pastries, before settling into a relaxed, practical woodworking workshop with Oak & Rope.

You’ll discover the history of chopping boards (and why we still love them), how traditional chopping boards stand the test of time, and the fascinating natural anti-bacterial qualities of wood. Then it’s time to choose your own unique piece of oak and, with expert guidance, shape and finish a handcrafted chopping board that’s completely your own.

Once your board has been carefully sanded and treated with food-safe oil, it's time to put your feet up with a guided wine tasting hosted by our neighbours (and English winemaking rockstars!), Simpsons Wine Estate. As you sample a selection of Kent-grown sparkling and still wines, we'll serve Garden Oven Piggy Bits to nibble on before everyone gathers around the table for a generous, two-course Garden Oven feasting lunch of wood-fired pizzas and plentiful sides… plus something sweet to round it all off!

After you’ve had a chance to recharge, you'll return to your chopping board for the finishing touches, buffing the oak to reveal its rich natural grain before carefully gift boxing your handmade creation to take home and enjoy for years to come.
