fresh produce, warm breeze, tipples on the green

Long summer days in the countryside

THE PIG-in the Cotswolds

This is when our Cotswolds hideaway really comes into its own

With long, sun-soaked days settling over the rambling countryside, the gardens and surrounding hills are alive with colour, wildlife and warm summer air. There’s every excuse to linger outside a little longer, glass in hand.

From fresh, garden-led feasting in our restaurant to evening tipples as the sun dips low over the gardens, summer here is all about slowing down. Think countryside walks, live music drifting through the garden and long, lazy afternoons that roll effortlessly into warm evenings, summertime, the PIG way.

Step Outside: Summer Walks & Garden Wanders

Just a few steps from our doorstep, you’ll find plenty of country lane rambles and chocolate box villages to explore, blossom lining honey-stone lanes, bluebells tucked beneath ancient trees, and lambs dotted across impossibly green fields.

Our team has pulled together some of their favourite local walks, perfect for working up an appetite before lunch on the terrace or stretching things out after a leisurely breakfast.

Stretch your legs

Outdoor eats on the terrace

Soak up every last drop of al fresco-fuelled afternoons this summer and pull up a chair for a bite outside on our terrace, tucked just outside the hustle and bustle of the main restaurant.

This is slow, sun-on-your-face, top-button-undone dining. Dig into our ever-changing 25-mile menu outside, where lunch drifts into supper, another glass appears, and suddenly it’s golden hour.

Unwind in our Fieldhouse Spa

Set on the edge of the fields at THE PIG-in the Cotswolds, the Fieldhouse is our one-and-only spa - a warm, light-filled space designed for proper down time, with big views out over rolling countryside and the soft sounds of nature all around.

Our treatment rooms here are some of our favourite spots to hide out. Sinking into a massage, facial or scrub while the rest of the world does its thing feels like a really good kind of treat.

Golden hour: Buttered & Baked

After a long, countryside ramble, there’s only one sensible next step. Settle in for Buttered & Baked - generous, comforting and proudly un‑fussy, ‘perfect-for-3pm’ kind of moreish treats.

Think warm, savoury, cheesy, buttery bites and plentiful homebaked sweet things to finish. It’s the perfect pairing for a mid-week spring wander, whether you’re staying the night or just dropping in.

Have teatime, THE PIG way
