a new season is calling
THE PIG-near Bath
spring is when our somerset hideaway really comes into its own

Spring at THE PIG‑near Bath
The gardens are stretching awake, the rolling Mendip Hills countryside becomes vibrant with flora and fauna again, and there’s a renewed excuse to linger outside in those first warm days with a glass in hand.
From fresh, garden‑led feasting dishes in our restaurant to outdoor, wood-fired dining at the Garden Oven, and local bluebell walks, live music and long, lazy afternoons that turn into evenings – this is springtime, the PIG way.

Outdoor eats at the Garden Oven
Our Garden Oven will be firing back up from 1st April 2026!
Soak up every last drop of al fresco-fuelled afternoons this spring and enjoy wood-fired pizzas with good company at our Garden Oven, tucked just outside the hustle and bustle of the main house.
Simply rock up and grab a table to join us for an afternoon bite or a quick drink – there’s no better place to down tools and settle in for some garden-inspired grazing and a cold one!

Chef’s Picks: our Spring set lunch.
Savour a little goodness from the Kitchen Garden; Chef’s Picks is our seasonal, set lunch menu created for lingering over with a glass in hand and good company around the table.
Fresh, unfussy, proper comforting dishes celebrating what’s just been pulled, picked or foraged from our veg beds and on our doorstep.
Two courses for £28.50
Three courses for £32.50

Spring Events & Live Music
This season at THE PIG-near Bath is about good food, great company and the occasional soundtrack.
We'll be hosting live music evenings, relaxed garden gatherings and seasonal events that celebrate what’s coming out of the ground right now.

Step Outside: Spring Walks & Garden Wanders
Just steps from our doorstep you’ll find rolling Mendip Hills, woodland walks, and gentle rambles that show the West Country at its freshest, from blossom-lined lanes to bluebell-dotted woods. Follow footpaths through patchwork fields, or take a scenic spin into nearby Bath for a stroll through honey-hued streets and along the canal.
Our team has pulled together some of their favourite local walks, perfect for working up an appetite before lunch on the terrace or stretching things out after breakfast.

Golden hour: Buttered & Baked
After a long, countryside ramble, there’s only one sensible next step. Settle in for Buttered & Baked - generous, comforting and proudly un‑fussy, ‘perfect-for-3pm’ kind of moreish treats.
Think warm, savoury, cheesy, buttery bites and plentiful homebaked sweet things to finish. It’s the perfect pairing for a mid-week spring wander, whether you’re staying the night or just dropping in.

Unwind in the Potting Shed
Our treatment rooms are some of our favourite spots to hide out, tucked away in the peace and quiet of the Kitchen Garden. Sinking into a massage, facial or scrub while the rest of the world does its thing feels like a really good kind of treat.
It’s time carved out just for you.

Where will you wake up this Spring?

Big Comfy Luxe
Slightly larger than the Comfy Luxe rooms located in the main house, they feature a large monsoon shower, a four-poster bed, and a freestanding roll-top bath - some of which are even in the bedrooms.
The Apple Store
The Apple Store is ‘rustic shed’ hidden within the Kitchen Garden with unique features over two floors, a wood burning stove, large monsoon showers and a freestanding bath. It was originally used as an Apple Store and Garden Shed, it has now been transformed into a cosy retreat.
The Hide
The Hide is located in the kitchen garden with unique features over two floors, a wood burning stove, large monsoon showers and a freestanding bath. The Hide really is ‘a room with a view’, where the herd of 80 strong Fallow Deer are able to appear right outside your window!
Orchard Stable
Tucked away beyond the Kitchen Garden, just behind the fruit tree orchard, you’ll find our new two-bedroom hideaway; The Orchard Stable. Perfect for families and gathering friends, the two bedrooms connect to a cosy lounge with a large log burner. The master bedroom has a four-poster bed and freestanding roll-top bath, while the second bedroom has two seriously comfy twin beds. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite with walk-in monsoon showers.
Nuttery Stable
Beyond the veg beds, through the damson tree orchard and past quietly buzzing beehives, you’ll find The Nuttery Stable. This peaceful one-bedroom hidden-gem overlooks our newly planted nuttery and has its own snuggly lounge with a warming log burner. The bedroom has a super-comfy four poster bed, a freestanding roll-top bath, a large walk-in monsoon shower in the ensuite, and a separate dressing room – bags of space to relax and make yourself at home!
