There’s no better time to explore than in summer. Right from our doorstep you’ll find rolling countryside, shady woodland walks and gentle rambles that show off the New Forest at its sun-dappled best, from leafy forest trails to wide open glades.
Our team has pulled together some of their favourite local walks, perfect for working up an appetite before lunch or stretching things out after a slow, sunny breakfast.
Unwind in the Potting Sheds
Our treatment rooms are some of our favourite spots to hide out, tucked away in the peace and quiet of the Kitchen Garden. Sinking into a massage, facial or scrub while the rest of the world does its thing feels like a really good kind of treat.

Golden hour: Buttered & Baked
After a long, countryside ramble, there’s only one sensible next step. Settle in for Buttered & Baked - generous, comforting and proudly un‑fussy, ‘perfect-for-3pm’ kind of moreish treats.
Think warm, savoury, cheesy, buttery bites and plentiful homebaked sweet things to finish. It’s the perfect pairing for a mid-week spring wander, whether you’re staying the night or just dropping in.

Larger rooms located in the main house, off the courtyard or in the Stable Yard, featuring large monsoon showers and freestanding baths.
Hideaways
The Hog House, Hen House, Old Spot and Tamworth, located in the Stable Yard with large monsoon showers and freestanding baths.
Pig Lodge 1
Set within THE PIG's grounds, overlooking the forest, Pig Lodge 1 has a master bedroom, en-suite with monsoon shower and a spacious lounge, complete with a log burner and a compact kitchenette.
Pig Lodge 2
Also set within THE PIG's grounds, overlooking the forest, Pig Lodge 2 has a spacious double bedroom, bathroom with large monsoon shower and freestanding bath.
Forest Cabin
A rustic romantic hideaway with a view and an unforgettable setting. Nestled on its own, perfect for unwinding & relaxing. Four poster en-suite with monsoon shower room. Terrific views deep into the forest from free standing bath in the room.
The Pig Sty
The Pig Sty is located in the Stable yard, a large double bedroom with walk in dressing room and a bunk room for children up to the age of 12. Features a living room with log burner, family bathroom with 6ft monsoon shower and roll-top bath plus a wet bar area.
Forest Hut
The Forest Hut is a little brother to Bert’s Box, and is the perfect woodland hideaway - small but perfectly formed, tucked in at the bottom of the garden, clad in reclaimed timber with a private terrace. Our Forest hut has a cosy bedroom with floor to ceiling windows and an adjoining bathroom.
Pig House
Master bedroom en-suite and monsoon shower with freestanding bath. Piglets room with bunk bed and monsoon shower. There’s a multipurpose kitchenette, dining/ living area with a log burner.
Bert's Box
Bert's Box was the first of its kind and will contain everything you need for a two-person getaway, including a master bedroom with four-poster bed, shower room, free-standing bath and kitchen-diner with a log burner.

Forest Hut
The Forest Hut is a little brother to Bert’s Box and is the perfect escape in the heart of nature – it’s small but perfectly formed, clad in reclaimed timber with a private outdoor terrace.

Bert's Box
Bert's Box was the first of its kind and remains a real hidden gem in the heart of the forest. Think of it as your completely private retreat flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling Crittall-style doors and windows, and full of rustic texture and quirky furnishings.

Our summer Garden Parties are back for 2026!
...and this year is extra special, as 2026 marks 15 fantastic years of THE PIG!
The ultimate way to spend a summer weekend! We’ll be throwing open the doors to our lawn in the Brockenhurst from Friday 12th June to Sunday 14th June for a proper garden party with great feasting food, live, local music and cracking entertainment to let the good times roll.
